Saturday night was camp roast night and thankfully the rain cleared through the afternoon.

Bruce had arranged a piece of pork on the spit which was accompanied by a mystery roast (after
a long discussion it was agreed that it was beef that looked like pork??) and there was an
abundance of vegetables contributed by all. With Sandy’s guidance, sharing of camp ovens and
Bruce’s supervision everything came together exactly as required and the camp went very quiet
as all tucked in to a real feast.
Thanks also to Peter and Carol Grant for the fruit and ice cream desert.

I expect that all slept well after a great dinner, more conversation and the odd beverage.

Sunday started with a clearing sky and finally some sun to help dry the canvas before we packed
up. The group separated with some heading home along the highway whilst 4 vehicles took a
more scenic route via Aberfeldy and Matlock. The relatively easy tracks were dotted with interest-
ing sites and relics from the mining era and Bruce did a fantastic job as our tour guide.

It was lovely to get to know other Yarra Valley 4x4 club members and thanks to everyone for
        making us ‘newbies’ feel welcomed.
