though they know they will come home late).” Ostensibly, (this
answer is difficult because) women are obligated in all mitzvot תרֶֶכִּנ םִיַתָפְשַּׂה לַעֶשׁ ,"םִיַתָפְשׂ ליִוֱא" וּהוּארָקְוּ .םֶהיֵלֲע
just as are men except for learning Torah and for several mitzvot אלֹ םירִָבְדּ ברְֹבּ"וּ ,דֹאְמ םירִָבְדּ הֶבּרְַמֶּשׁ ,וֹלֶּשׁ תֶלֶוִּאָה
that are time-sensitive. But based on what we have written
it now satisfies as a good answer.” It is true that Olam Haba .)ט"י 'י יֵלְשִׁמ( "עַשָׁפּ לַדְּחֶי
will certainly be attained by their observance of mitzvot. The
question discussed by the gemara is - In what merit will their
body be restored back to life since they don’t have the merit of
learning Torah? The gemara answers – That they also have this
merit since they took their children to yeshivot to learn.

Based on this, those people who have no merit whatsoever for
learning Torah, people who don’t even observe the mitzvah of
reciting the Kriyat Shemah and who don’t send their children to
yeshivot to learn Torah and don’t support Torah at all, even though
their souls will certainly earn a place in Olam Haba because of
some mitzvot that they observed, as Chazal have taught (in the
first mishnah of Gemara Sanhedrin, in the 10 perek) that every

Jew has a portion of Olam Haba. Nevertheless, regarding the
subject of their physical bodies being restored back to life, that
outcome is in great danger of never happening since they don’t
have the merit of Torah.

I said to myself that if they were asked “Do you believe the
Torah was given to us by Hashem?” They certainly would
answer, “Yes, we do believe that.” And if this is so, one has a
very great complaint against them. The homes that they live
in, houses that are only built of wood, each homeowner insures
his house against the possibility of a damaging fire, in order that
he will have enough money to rebuild it again brand new if it
burns down, even though it is doubtful the house will ever burn.
But it is a certainty that man’s physical body will eventually
disintegrate because every person will eventually die. And so
how is it possible that this person does not even ask for advice on
how to restore life back to his body and make it brand new again,
meaning by virtue of supporting Torah.
