In the time of the Beit Hamikdash, Bnei Yisrael used to sacrifice the
korban olah.All other korbanot were shared with the Kohen, whereas the
korban olah was consecrated entirely for Hashem.

One reason for this may be in order to teach us that there are some issues
in the course of our lives that require complete dedication to Hashem.
Regarding these issues, we may not seek to take a share in them for
ourselves.

The korban olah trains us to express gratitude to Hashem wholeheartedly
without seeking to receive anything in return.

It is customary to first begin teaching children the parshiyot of korbanot
despite their complexity, in order to train them from youth to be
benevolent, submissive, and to express gratitude. These are the
foundations of the Jewish nation.
