STUDY OF ADJUSTMENT OF DRAINAGE DESIGN
STANDARD IN HONG KONG DUE TO CLIMATE

    CHANGE

    ABSTRACT

    RESEARCH BACKGROUND

As climate change intensifies, the world faces more frequent and severe weather
events. These changes impact rainfall patterns, leading to an increased risk of flooding
incidents. To mitigate economic losses and protect public safety, it is crucial to develop
enhanced drainage systems capable of handling these challenges.

    METHODOLOGY LI CHUN KUEN

For those drainage systems which fail in Spare Capacity, different new design standards
are proposed to determine whether the existing drainage design can be improved.
