TEENS OF THE YEAR
ONABELE M c F ADDEN
“I’ve always had a passion for helping people,” says
Onabele McFadden, “and I’ve never been afraid to try
new things.”
And perhaps that’s why the Bethlehem Catholic High
School student is so busy.
She volunteers with Vacation Bible School; middle-
and elementary-school retreats; food and clothing dona-
tion drop-offs; and as an altar server and choir member.
McFadden, who lives with her mom, brother and two
dogs, Lilly and Bear, somehow also has time to work for
Sodexo at Holy Family Manor and be a nanny for one child.
And she tends to her hobbies, drawing and painting,
too. “I started painting,” she notes “when I was three-years-old.”
As importantly, McFadden is a strong student, who was inducted into the National
Society of High School Scholars and received several scholarships toward college where
she intends to major in nursing and will double minor in Spanish and psychology.
