Unexpected Expectations

I’m at the Wildwood Beach and it can’t be,

I spot a bottle with a note in it right at sea.

My excitement is through the roof: this only

happens on a movie screen.

Unless of course, you are this teen.

Every case scenario of what this note says is

running through my head.

It must have been a letter to a bride to be wed;

Or a loved one who is now very much dead;

Maybe it contains all the words that were better

left unsaid.

I grab the bottle and hold it tight.

I try to open it with all my might.

Finally, I open it and what do I see:

If you are reading this note, “Hi.”
