In March 2026, the Adasa Photography Club launched an ambitious artistic project titled
“Land and Water,” placing the camera at the service of the environment and community awareness A scene showcasing the distinctive
to document the eternal relationship that binds Egyptians to their sources of life. This project is local sailing boats that uniquely

transcends visual aesthetics to touch the soul of the place and human memory.

The relationship between land and water is one of the oldest and most significant bonds that
have shaped the contours of life in Egypt throughout the ages. For millennia, Egyptian civilization
has been inextricably linked to the Nile, seas, and rivers, which endowed the land with fertility and
determined the forms of urbanization, agriculture, and daily life. Water is not merely a source of
life; it is a profound element that influences the environment, nature, and humanity, just as it is,
in turn, affected by the nature of the land, climate, and various environmental changes. From this
perspective, the project was conceived to reveal the concept of mutual influence between land and
water, illustrating how rivers and seas have shaped Egyptian cities and villages, and conversely, how
the nature of the land and human intervention affect the movement, quality, and continuity of water.

The project was far more than a series of fleeting photography tours; it was a profound field journey

in the heart of the capital, Cairo, where lenses captured the pulse of the Nile River flowing through its
arteries, passing through the Golden Island, which offers a unique model of the integration between
nature and human life on the banks of the Nile. The journey did not stop at Cairo but extended to
the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. In Alexandria, the ancient city embraced by the Mediterranean,
cameras captured the charm and secrets of the coastal city, before moving on to Baltim, a small inside Lake Baltim
town carrying the essence of maritime history. It then continued to Damietta and Ras El Bar,
which encompasses a city of
fishermen, and finally reached
Port Said, Egypt’s eastern
gateway to the Mediterranean.
In the northwest, the spotlight
was turned on the Rashid
Branch, where photographs
captured scenes from the cities
of Rashid (Rosetta) and Fuwah,
expressing the profound
relationship between the Nile
and the sea in this vital region
where the river meets the
sea, continually reshaping the
