In 2026 the 23 FIAP Nature Biennial was organised in South Africa.

The FIAP Operational Member for South Africa is the “The Photographic
Society of South Africa” (PSSA).
FIAP Events judges were: Paul Stanley, EFIAP/p, ESFIAP (Ireland), Clive Rathland, EFIAP, FIAP Events
The judging was completed on the 10th February in Cape Town. The
FRPS, DPAGB (England) and Alaa ElBasha (Egypt). The whole process has
been efficiently managed by Philip De Lange, Lesley Parolis, Nicol & Trudi
du Toit and Jill Sneesby.
We are very grateful to all the participants of this Biennial. Collections
were sent by 22 countries, and we received 579 photographs in total
between the two sections.

(Slovenia) and Cinema Amateurs Association The total score of a collection was obtained by the addition of the points from the two different
(Türkiye) judgements.
The print section had 16 countries participate. The winner of the World Cup was Ireland. The
medal winning countries were Italy, Russia Federation and Australia. The HM´s were obtained by
South Africa, Argentina, Croatia, Türkiye, France and San Marino.
The digital section received collections from 21 countries. The winner of the World Cup was
South Africa. The medal winning countries were France, Italy and Russian Federation. The HM´s
were obtained by Bangladesh, India, Türkiye, Argentina, Cyprus and Australia.
Italy obtained the Great Prize, Nature Trophy “Odette Bretscher”.
Mrs. Odette Bretscher created this prize in 1985, at the moment of leaving the presidency of
FIAP. The prize rewards the country that is best placed in the combination of the two sections of
the Nature Biennial. A representative of the national federation that won this trophy will be invited
to receive the award at the next FIAP Congress in Brazil.
Other than the awards for the winning country teams, eleven individual awards, six FIAP
medals and five awards offered by the PSSA, were given in each section to the top photographs.

The opening ceremony will take place in September 2026 in Port Elizabeth during the PSSA
“Princess Autumn” “Whirling” Congress.
