Well known for their coffees, the café is also
popular for their all day breakfast. Opened
by one of the most influential baristas in
Malaysia, JH Yee has moved home to Johor
Bahru from his previous gig in Kuala Lumpur,
Top Brew Coffee Bar and brought the clean
and simple concept into Atlas. Located in the
commercial side of a residential area, the café
is surrounded by shops and eateries.
The Japanese designed café interior uses
white, grey and bright brown colours for its
furniture and fittings. A rack of artsy and
travel magazines are displayed at the working
bar for customers to read. Food and drinks
orders are made at the counter right in front
of the entrance instead of the usual waiting
at the table. This is to speed up the flow of
the café and reduce customers’ waiting time
to be served. It is also a way to let customers
take charge and feel at home. Atlas source
their beans from a Singapore roastery and also

whose intention was to geek out on coffee Champagne;

The outlet was opened in 2011 together with Blossom Tea
Jason’s brother, Loon, who is in charge of with Flossy
product R&D and the café’s menu. Jason Cream
first started by growing his own Liberica
beans in his father’s farm, before eventually
taking control of the entire bean production
process all the way to roasting of the beans
he’s harvested. Jason’s two other brothers,
Adam and Bryan, joined the business later
to take care of the roaster and sales and
marketing respectively.
The outlet serves almost every part of a
coffee tree from its leaves to flowers and beans
to its shells (cascara). Find the latest coffee and
tea trends and innovative drinks exclusive to
the brand such as Stout Coffee and Cascara
Champagne. There is also the flossy cream
series where cream cheese is used to make
the foam that floats on top of a drink. It gives
a creamy mouthfeel and slight savoury notes
to a normally sweet beverage.
The brand has now grown into a franchise
business where the headquarters still manage
the quality of the beans from growth to its
packaging and presentation. In addition to
outlets in Mount Austin, Sutera, Kulai and
Taman Molek, the latest opening is in
Sunway Velocity Mall, Cheras where most
of the drinks items resembles the one in
