January 2022 Volume 73

Welcome to 2022! (Continued from first page)

       By John Wojciechowski, President

Over the very hot and dry summer we had in Utah this past year, we hosted several COVID-19 vaccination clinics outside in
the parking lot. The country is still in the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic, but Utah has done well to keep people safe in the
workplace. We are all optimistic 2022 will be a fresh start with new ideas and opportunities for our community.

In August 2021, we hosted the Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony at the Utah State Capitol building. This was a hybrid
event, with live and virtual attendees. Utah’s best individuals and organizations were recognized for their safety
accomplishments. During this event, we also welcomed new members to our Utah Safety Council Board of Directors.
We are very happy to report we had our first member appreciation event in over two years, at the Cross-E Ranch in Salt Lake.
We enjoyed a pumpkin patch, tractor rides, caramel apples, burgers and pig races with several member companies and their
families. We can’t wait to do it again in 2022.

We closed out 2021 with our annual WISH Award ceremony in December. This year we had a sold-out house at Red Butte
Garden as we celebrated our award winner live and in person and enjoyed a presentation from the esteemed Pat Jones. It
was an amazing afternoon with Women in Safety.

Thank you, all of you, for the support and for your memberships with the Utah Safety Council. Together we’ll continue to save
lives and keep Utah safe at work, home, or play. We promise to be there for all of you in 2022. Let’s do this!
