Cabrillo Stage
The Cabrillo Stage Theater will
be celebrating its 35th year performing two plays this summer at Cabrillo College in Aptos: Chicago and Fiddler on the Roof
Chicago. The longest running American musical in Broadway history. In roaring twenties Chicago, Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband Amos to take the rap...until he nds out he’s been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another “Merry Murderess Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the “American Dream : fame, fortune and acquittal.

Fiddler on the Roof. Set in the village of Anatevka. the story centers on Tevya, a poor dairyman and his ve daughters. WIth the help of a colorful and tight knit Jewish community, he tries to protect his daughters and instill them with traditional values in
the face of changing social mores and the growing ant-Semitism
of Czarzist Russia. Fiddler on the Roof’s universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and sadness.

Surf City Classic
The 22st Annual Woodies On The Wharf, will be held on Saturday, June 23-26 from 10am to 4pm
at the scenic Santa Cruz Wharf with more than 200 pre-1950s “woodies” on display. This FREE celebration of the surf spirit and classic surf wagons is fun for the entire family. Music, T-shirts, memorabilia and prize drawings add to the excitement. Free

Free Friday Night Concerts at the Beach Boardwalk
Starting Friday night, June 17th and continuing every Friday until Sept 2nd, two free concerts from classic bands of the 60s, 70s & 80s will be performed on the Boardwalk Stage at 6:30 and 8:30pm. beachboardwalk.com.
30th Annual Japanese Cultural Fair
The Japanese Cultural Fair will
be held on Saturday, June 7 from 11-6pm at Mission Plaza Park, a short walk from downtown Santa Cruz. It hosts traditional and contemporary dance and musical performances, a martial arts presentation, craft workshops, Taiko drumming, Okinawan Dance and Tea Ceremony, and Japanese food. Capitola Begonia Festival
64th Annual Capitola Begonia Festival takes place on September 3 -5 over Labor Day Weekend. Highlights include: Lets Dance! Review Friday Night, Saturday Sand Sculpture Contest 8am
