IGNITE Conference - Amsterdam
The Division represented by the Bank has contributed and participated in the Ignite Conference held in Amsterdam. The Bank, City of Amsterdam and International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group are considered as strategic partners.
The IsDB reaffirmed its readiness to actively support efforts to build resilience in countries affected by fragility and conflict. IGNITE International Conference provided an interactive platform to better understand and share ideas on entrepreneurship development, higher education in fragile states, and involve the private sector in these fields. It has contributed to develop better tools to support opportunities for students and entrepreneurs to empower them to play a leadership role in reconstructing in the conflict- affected countries.
The conference deliberated what the futures holds for these young and ambitious people once they have successfully completed their higher education or entrepreneurship training IsDB have also participated in donors’ meeting invited by SPARK and the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and attended by 30 donor organizations active in the Middle East and Northern Africa (MENA) to mobilize resources for IsDB Program for the Syrian Refugees.
