P. 8

March 15, 2019

During a recent convocation, I discussed our vision for Southern University and A&M
College. I tried to emphasize the compelling opportunities that we have in front of us. In
order to realize this exciting new future, we must reprioritize our resources and make smart

investments in our academic future. Completing the Program Prioritization Initiative (PPI)
will give us the chance to leverage our talents and abilities in fulfillment of our vision.

With your help, we have moved quite a distance from where we started in April 2018. As the
Executive Vice President/Executive Vice Chancellor, I am pleased with the way that
members of the Program Prioritization Initiative (PPI) have applied themselves to this

endeavor and I am heartened by the amazing goodwill and dedication that was exhibited with
               the PPI tasks.

With this report, we now have an additional tool that lends support for charting a productive
and transformative course for our future. We can now be assured that our path is aligned not
only with our strategic direction, but also with the indicated needs of our State and the global
               marketplace.

Our next step is to chart an exciting new future for our great university through
implementation. I will need all stakeholders actively engaged in the weeks and months ahead
as we set our course toward achievement of our academic and financial goals.

               James H. Ammons, Ph.D.
               Executive Vice President/Executive Vice Chancellor
