Results

For the academic program review, all University programs were categorized under the
following headings:

• Priority for Investment
• Priority for Opportunity
• Maintain/Transform
• Phase Out

Programs that fall into these categories require additional review for determination of specific
strategies that can be undertaken based on the program’s placement within the categories.
However, the general categorization provides a very powerful rubric that suggests the direction
of strategies related to the programs. The table below highlights the general placement of
programs in these categories.

General Characteristics of Program Review Headings

Programs in the Priority for Investment and Priority for Opportunity categories are all
aligned and/or strategically placed as candidates for growth and investment. However, they
may have current unmet demands, may be seeking new opportunities, or may be candidates
that could benefit from pursuing greater efficiencies.
Programs in the Maintain category may need time to prove themselves and to
demonstrate results. Programs in the Transform category can be regarded as essential to the
