Phase I: Taskforce Members

On June 4, 2018, Dr. James H. Ammons appointed taskforce members to serve on the Southern
University-Baton Rouge’s Program Prioritization Initiative (SUBR-PPI) for both Academic
and Administrative reviews. The charge to these two task forces was: a) to think strategically,
critically, and analytically; b) to understand and embrace the mission, vision, priorities and
focus of the University; c) to help ensure campus-wide involvement and communication; d) to
select the appropriate criteria; e) to develop the appropriate rubrics; f) to review factual data
insights; g) to oversee prioritizing programs and services; and h) to recommend prioritization
decisions based on the framework established.

The first meeting was held Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in PBS Pinchback, High
Tech Room. To prepare for the meeting, each taskforce member was asked to review the
Gallup-SU Report depicting the alignment of Southern’s programs. This report was just one
means of staying focus on financial resources while ensuring SUBR achieves a strategic
balance with limited resources.
