SPRINGFIELD GARDENS
LEOS
SERVICE AND
FELLOWSHIP UPDATE
During July and August when everyone was
“socially distancing”, Leos were busy writing and
mailing personal greeting postcards to nursing
home residents.
In September, they collected and donated cray-
ons, coloring books, picture books, chapter books
and novels to a Community Health Center and
Early Education Pre-School.
In October, club members practiced social dis-
tancing and enjoyed Jurassic Quest, an
interactive, educational dinosaur exhibit at
Hempstead Park in Lido Beach. This former
indoor event has been re-constructed as a “Drive-
Through” with audio experience, where families
can get up close to life-sized and accurate models
of dinosaurs and ancient undersea creatures.
