Global Service Team
We are now 1/4th of the way through this 2018-2019 year! Lions have been volunteering and working tirelessly in our communities. As many of you have discovered, nothing can replace the satisfaction of assisting those who are less fortunate.
In 2018, LCI added a new position that each club is required to fill. The Community Service Chair is responsible for planning and reporting events in which the club is involved. Sadly, only 65% of the clubs in 2-X1 have this position
filled. In conjunction, 35% clubs not reporting activities or meetings for the fiscal year are the same ones with this position still unfilled.
The Community Service Chairman can be a great help to the Club Secretary in recording and reporting activities. Please remember to include your monthly meetings in the service reports. These meetings can be included in the total number of hours serving your community.
We enjoy reading all of the exceptional reports of Lions across 2-X1! Please continue your diligent work, and don't feel bad about bragging on yourself! ( just a little)

PDG Mark Dean Global Servic Team District Coordinator
to be used for the Youth Scholarship Programs. Plan on attending the District Convention to vote on this and an International Director Candidate endorsement. I understand that Lion Ronnie Martin has withdrawn his name from consideration, leaving PCC T J Tijerina the only candidate, as of now.
The Website for the District (www.lions2-x1.org ) is looking better, but still is a work in progress. Let me know if you see areas for improvement. Thanks to Lion Laura Kyle and her team for the work on the Facebook for the District. I hope to see y’all at the Executive Council meeting on November 14th.
