Global Leadership Team
Happy Thanksgiving District Lions!
As I said in my October Link article, “The GLT’s main role is to help develop Lion leaders to hold positions at all levels”.
With that in mind, each Lion year, your district GLT, MD-2 and LCI provide training opportunities for you and your Club’s Lions. Why? Simply to help you and your club grow in service and be even more successful!
Does your club need some help? Do you have low membership or participation? Are you trying to find an appropriately sized service project? Are looking for program ideas, or struggling to keep your members happy so they don’t drop out of Lions?
Here is my suggestion. Contact your Global Membership Team Chair (PDG Henry
White) and ask him for some help. Tell him your issues. He and his GMT team are
there to help you. In addition, the GLT can provide you with training to help.
Need club member satisfaction tools? We have them.
Need to get some new members? We have resources and can help. Need an interesting program or service project? We can supply them. Need officer training? Contact me and the GLT will help.
Also, take advantage of these Lion training resources available to you and your club.
¬ Mark your calendars for these important training events:
• Texas Lions Leadership Forum/Regional Lions Leadership Institute
March 2nd & 3rd 2019 at the Crowne Plaza North Central Austin, TX. Access
more information and a Registration form at www.texaslions.org .
• *** Lions 2-X1 University on June 15th, 2019. ***
• District Membership Chair & Committee Training – May 11th, 2019

I am sad to hear from DG Keith that he okayed the cancellation of a club in the district, a total of 28 members dropped. I do agree with him. Last year the district had to cancel a club for not reporting MMR’s, Service Activity, paying district, State dues, as well as not serving their community.
Remember Lion Clubs have changed in the last five years. It’s not just paying your International dues and you are a club. Please see Lion Fred Conger, PDG Mark Dean or myself for help.

Sorry to inform you we are no longer number one in the State in membership as of October 30, 2018. As we work together as a team, District 2-X1 can regain the Membership lead.
The secret of a good mangers success lies in his/her ability to attract exceptional capable people and treat them with so much respect that they never leave.
