 Global Membership Team
As I begin this month link, I’m one of the happy Lions in the State of Texas with District 2-X1, one of five Districts in the state reporting an increase in membership. Thanks to many
clubs in the District with Waxahachie leading the way with 8 new members. 2-X1 lead the way with +7 new members this month. If each club could end 2018, with a net plus one the district will be in good shape for the first half of the year. We have many clubs that has not had an increase in membership in five or six years, if those clubs need help please call DG Keith.
I encourage each club President to have a Membership Chairperson and a working membership committee. The clubs that has membership committee normally has membership growth. All clubs have retention problems we can work on them by using The Art of Recognition and Membership Satisfaction Guide. All clubs Secretaries can see dropped members from their club for the last ten years, it maybe time to ask them by email or phone called to rejoin the club. If your club need help with this, please call
 our District Cabinet Secretary Lion Karen Johnson, lionkj02@gmail.com, H: 972-429-8985 C: 972-793-4144.
Consider making your club family friendly by hosting a family day or night additional resources and ideas can be found at www.lionclub.org and download the” family friendly Lions concept How to Guide”
I encourage your clubs to pay special attention to women they are the single fastest growing membership segment of Lion Clubs.
Your Membership Chair may order membership brochures from Lions Clubs International, ME-37. Email: memberprog@lionclub.org or phone 630-571-5466, ext. 6727.
If you or members of your club know of any areas that need a Lions club, please let me or the District Governor know.
