It looks like we will end the month on a positive membership note! We are
+4 for the year and I have inducted a few that do not show up yet. My thanks to the Richardson Host, Irving noon Day, Dallas Everest and Dallas Oak Cliff Lions Clubs for a good visit during the month. I also visited Seagoville Sunset and Grand Prairie Host to either induct new members or give awards. If I have not visited your club, give me a call or drop me a note indicating the best dates to come.
September brings the School days (already started in most places) and brings the Lions Sight and Tissue Annual Golf Tournament. Hopefully your club is sponsoring a team or a golf hole. Don’t forget to support your favorite charity on North Texas Giving Day on September 20th (you can donate from 9/11 until then). I will be attending the USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum in Columbus, Ohio September 19-21 along with several lions from the District. If you are not going I encourage you to attend the Lancaster Lions Charter night on the 21st.
We will have the 2nd Cabinet Meeting on October 20th in Kaufman. I encourage all the new officers that have not been to training to attend as we will have sessions to cover the training requirement for the 100% President and Secretary awards. While the requirement is that each club report activities at least once a year, we have 24 clubs that have not reported ANY for this year. Has your club participated in the 100% giving to charities yet?
Plans are underway for the Mid-Winter Conference in Duncanville in January and also for the District Convention in April. See them on the District Calendar. The IT group has been working on updating the Website (Lions2-X1.org) this fall. We also now have the calendar submission working, so I encourage all clubs to input your events where you want the district to participate (or buy tickets) through the website so we can resolve conflicts on dates.
