Global Leadership Team
I hope all district Clubs are having a great summer and are engaged in or are preparing for a Service activity. Our motto says it all. “We Serve”. Without service, we aren’t Lions.
Your District 2-X1 Global Leadership Team will be preparing the following leadership training events for the future 2019-2020 Club Officers.
Watch for the actual dates.
• Lions University: In July 2019
• Membership Chair Training: In August 2019.
These two events are important in helping your club be successful in Service, Leadership, and Membership growth. Every Club Officer should be trained or retrained each year. There is a strong link between Successful clubs and Training.
Club Presidents: If you, your club’s Secretary or Treasurer didn’t attend this year’s Lions University, and/or your Membership Chair didn’t attend the MC training held in May, then you each have until Oct. 31st to become trained via LCI’s On-Line Training courses or attend the Oct 20th Cabinet Meeting training. Current Presidents whose Secretary, Treasurer and Membership Chair officers have been trained for this Lion year are eligible for the District’s 100% President award. If you train on-line, you must notify the District Cabinet Secretary and copy me for credit. On-line courses for President, Secretary and Treasurer may be accessed at:
http://www.lionsclubs.org/resources/EN/pdfs/club-secretary-workbook.pdf
http://www.lionsclubs.org/resources/all/pdfs/club-treasurer-resources.pdf
New LCI created e-books are available for all major club offices including Membership Chair at:

Training is not done for an award. Training helps you; your officers and your club provide additional and
improved service to your community.
Check the 2-X1 District Directory (pages 52 thru 55) for club and officer award requirements. Achieving these awards means your club is meeting LCI’s charter requirements. Awards show
that we are doing what is expected of our clubs and officers.
If your club is struggling to find new members, needs to find a signature service project, has special leadership development needs or would like help and support in any way:
• Contact District Governor Keith or myself and ask for some help,
• Attend the officer “mini” training at the October Cabinet meeting,
• Plan now to send your 2019-2020 officers and club leaders to GLT
sponsoredtraining events (especially LU and Membership Training),
• Check out and take LCI’s on-line courses,
• Send several of your club members to the Texas Lions Leadership Forum held
March 9th & 10th in Austin.
These resources are your path forward to increased efficiency and increased service.
