Register for LU - Now
June 8, 2019 – Lions 2-X1 University
Brookhaven College – 3939 Valley View Ln Farmers Branch, TX
This is my last Link article as your District GLT coordinator. PDG Carolyn Dorman will once again move our district training opportunities forward. She has new and exciting ideas which will enhance our clubs and district. All our Lions need to do is make it a
point to attend LU and the other district training events.
As I write this article, LU 2019 is only 10 days away. If you or your new officers or club Lions attend, you will learn and leave more excited about being a LION. If you plan to attend, I need your registration by June 3rd. Print and scan the form and email it me at fred.conger@verizon.net if you can’t get the registration mailed to me in time. You can then pay the regular early registration fee at the door on June 8th.
Every club in the district should have multiple attendees so their club runs smoother and develops new club leaders. LU provides incoming club officers with the training and information they need to have a successful Lion year. It also provides New Lions and your club’s upcoming leaders with an
opportunity to learn and grow in Lion knowledge and to prepare for future leadership
roles. If your club’s administrative finances allow, I suggest that the club cover all or a portion of the $30 registration fee for attendees. The fee covers breakfast, lunch and course material and the classes. Newly Chartered clubs should make certain their officers attend. Registration forms with registration instructions and a campus map are available online at www.lions2x1university.org.
I know that LU will be extremely valuable for all who attend. The knowledge and enthusiasm gained by attending Lions University is extremely important to the success of your club and likewise our district.
Register now to attend.
Remember, Trained Lions = Better Lions!

Fred Conger Global Leadership Team District Coordinator
Your club should now be in the 2nd year of installing a Club Service Chairperson. Many of you have asked questions about the responsibility of the this position. The answer is simply assisting in the planning, coordination and
reporting of activities that your club is completing. Following
the initiative of LCI, each club should be working toward completing projects in five major areas. To achieve Club Excellence, your club needs to complete projects including vision, environment, diabetes, childhood cancer and hunger relief, Our training at Lions University will include ideas of what your club can do, along with assistance in planning to make 2019-2020 the best year of serving ever.
