I had an opportunity to attend the DG Elect Seminar in Chicago, Feb 11-15. It was a well –organized event attended by over 600 DGE’s from around the world. Incoming International President Jung – Yul Choi gave a welcome address and personally visited us during our sessions. He is a dynamic leader who leads by example. His emphasis on LCIF Campaign 100 is to help raise 300 million dollars by 2021. His theme We Serve Through Diversity, by inviting Members of All Ages and incorporate new ideas. Overall the three day work sessions were very beneficial to me to be an effective Governor.
2-X1 Lions University is scheduled for June 8, at a new location at Brookhaven College. This is more centrally located for everyone to attend. All lions are welcome to attend as there is something for everyone. Training is an essential tool to become a good Lion and take leadership roles. All incoming officers starting in July 1 are requested to attend. It is that time, for all clubs to form a nominating committee to elect new officers for 2019-2020. Elections have to be completed before April 15 and reported to LCI. March 9 is Lion’s Day with the U.N. in New York. If you happen to visit New York, it is a good opportunity to meet other Lion’s from around the world.

District 2-X1 Annual Picnic Announcement

The District 2-X1 Picnic will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 11:00 A. M. – 02:00 P. M. The location is Olde City Park 122 S Ballard Ave., Wylie, Texas – 75098. All District 2-X1 Lions, their families, and friends are invited to attend. The District will be preparing grilled hamburgers and hot dogs with all the fixings, chips, and drinks. Desserts will also be provided. Our Zone 2 Lions are planning games and fun activities for after lunch. See the Flyer in this edition of the Lions Link. Details are also posted at lions2-x1.org (the District 2- X1 web site). Please come and enjoy the food, fun, and fellowship. I ask that you R.S.V.P. to me so I can obtain enough food for all attendees. For more information see page 31.
