Clubs - Save these dates!
June 8, 2019 – Lions 2-X1 University
Brookhaven College – 3939 Valley View Ln Farmers Branch, TX
Note this new location. Lions 2-X1 University provides incoming club officers with the
training and information they need to have a successful Lion year. It also provides New Lions and your club’s upcoming leaders with an opportunity to grow in Lion knowledge and to prepare for future leadership. If your club’s administrative finances allow, it is suggested that the club cover the registration fee for attendees. The $30 fee covers breakfast, lunch and course material. Newly Chartered clubs should
make certain they attend.
Registration forms will be available in April and at the District Convention.
May 11, 2019 – Membership Team Training
Location – TBD
Every club loses members throughout the year for various reasons. The May 11th Membership Team training is important if your club wants to remain viable and increase your community service. This can only happen by recruiting new members to replace drops and by increasing your membership. Incoming Membership Chairs
and committee members and Presidents should plan to attend. All clubs will be notified directly with the details in March.

Fred Conger Global Leadership Team District Coordinator
I would like to start by giving thanks to all clubs for having a service project to help their community. We only have five clubs in the district that have not reported service project this Lions year. This month has been inspiring for me as I had the opportunity to visit clubs doing their project.
Please start planning your clubs 2019-2020 Lions year. You should report your clubs officers to the district and Lions International by April 15th, 2019.
As for membership, some clubs have not had a new member in years. What if each club gave a prize to the member that sponsor the most members in their clubs by June 30, 2019.
Membership training will be on May 11, 2019; you will hear more about this from GLT Lion Fred. All members of your club are welcome. Membership traning is improtant to all if you want your club to be viable and increase your community service.
Let’s show our members we care about them. There is no better way to honor a club member with five years or less of service than the district Grass Roots Lion event at the District Convention. The application form is in the Lions Link (see pages 4 and 13) and on our district website under forms.
There will be a round table discussion on membership at the Cabinet Meeting on March 23, 2019; please email me with any membership questions you would like answered. There is a new program that calls Join Together Club; I will go over it as well.
