VINOD’S VIEWS
As the holiday season ends and leaves behind fond memories that brought our families closer together, as we shared the joys of the Christmas season. On the same token, let us resolve to care for our fellow Lions like our family members. Our club is our family. The strength of our association is a result of warm relationships among Lions. If Lions can help others, we definitely can help fellow Lions too. That is what being a family, is all about. In the next few months until the end of this Lions year let us continue to invite people to become Lions. We need to be recruiting, as we have dropped more
members than added. Let us all come together during the Mid-Winter Conference and 3rd Cabinet Meeting on January 20, as we show our camaraderie and enjoy a well- planned event. All Lions are welcome to attend. Our third Executive Council meeting is scheduled for January 17.We will be discussing Club Excellence and Reshape Public Opinion and Improve Lions visibility. Please plan on attending. Your input is vital for the success of these meetings. Wishing you all a Happy New Year!

A NEW YEAR - A NEW OPPORTUNITY

The close of 2017 has not been good for us. In the month of December, alone, our District 2-X1 Lions Family has suffered numerous losses from the death of many of our members – many of whom were outstanding members and leaders of our association for a long time. They were all dearly loved and will be sorely missed. And, we have to face the reality that the demographics of our association indicate that
those losses are going to continue to affect us in the immediate future.
We lose members for many reasons. Death is one that we are powerless to do anything about, but we are not powerless to make up for those losses with aggressive efforts to expand our membership and grow the influence and presence of our association in the communities we serve. This, after all, is our calling and our commitment. There is no better way for us to honor the memories of our departed Lions than to renew our commitment and redouble our efforts to making the Lions Clubs of District 2-X1 the biggest, most involved, and most relevant community organization in all of the neighborhoods in which we serve.
Your Global Membership Team stands ready to assist you and your club in making that happen. Let us help you make 2018 a year of growth and expansion of all that we are as Lions.
