As we join together with family and friends to bring 2017 to a close, we In
District 2-X1 have made a difference in fighting hunger and helping the less fortunate people in our community. Thank you for your support and efforts.
The wonderful acts of kindness the clubs and individual Lions have displayed this holiday season is very impressive. I would like to encourage all of the clubs to continue their great work next year. As part of your meditations during this month, please consider new ways to serve as we move into 2018.
Let’s finish this Lions year strong. I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season.
Mid-Winter conference is coming up on January 20, 2018. This year the district host club is Irving Noon Day Lions Club, with Lion Mike Davis and Zone Chair Lion Terry Meza. The Mid-Winter conference will be held at Plymouth Park United Methodist Chuch, 1615 West Airport Freeway, Irving, Texas 75062. Registration begins at 8:00 A.M. the fee is $10 which includes lunch. Please bring your Leo Club Members as we will Installation the District Leo Council. They are the future next 50 years of Lions. Lion Prakash Gautam, the district Leo Chair, has worked very hard to organize the District 2-X1 Council. Let’s welcome them with open arms.
Lion Fred and his team have some exciting breakout sessions. The session I enjoyed the most and should be a must for all clubs is, “ How to Recruit Young Adults and Women”. I also enjoyed the sessions on “How to Help the President and Secretary reporting and how to Upgrade Your Club Communication”.
Some Lions ask why attend the Mid-Winter every year? Well it’s the best place to Learn and link with Lions from all over the District and have fun. I can’t think of a better venue in the district except for Lions 2-X1 University to learn about our association.
