Global Leadership Team
• the state or position of being a leader.
• the leaders of an organization, country, etc.
• the action of leading a group of people or an organization.
Leadership is a noun and is defined as:
The mission of the Global Leadership Team is to develop and train leaders in our clubs, district and beyond. We offer assistance where requested and provide training opportunities for ALL Lions in our district. District 2-X1 Lions University – June 9, 2018
Mark your calendars today! The 7th Annual District 2-X1 Lions University will be held at Collin College Spring Creek Campus.
Lions University is essential in helping club officers prepare for a successful year in their respective office. It also helps all Lions develop and become leaders in their clubs and the District.
Details of the 2018 LU will soon be communicated. There will be helpful training for ALL Lions. And remember, a trained Lion is a better (and more efficient) Lion.
• Start planning to send your 2018-2019 officers, your new Lions, your club board members, project chairs and every Lion interested in learning skills that will help them in Lionism, and which often prove useful in their everyday & professional life.
Zone Chairperson Training: May 5, 2018 – Collin College
If you are tapped by 1st VDG Keith to serve as a Zone Chair in 2018-2019 your training will be held on May 5th. Further details will be sent to you via email.

STOP THE BLEEDING – ADD NEW BLOOD
Fred Conger Global Leadership Team District Coordinator
Over these first seven months of this Lions-year, the Lions of Texas have lost over 900 Lions. In District 2-X1, we have lost over 80 Lions. Retention is an on-going problem for our clubs and we have programs to address the issues of retention that plague our membership.
One of the best solutions to the problems caused by our failure to retain members like we should is for us to constantly bring in new members. Past International President Jimmy Ross has preached for years that the first priority of every Lion and every Lions Club MUST be membership; that we should ALWAYS be inviting new friends and acquaintances to visit our clubs and recruit them to join. You have heard it said, as I have for years, that “membership is the life blood” of Lionism.
Our Motto is “We Serve.” But, it goes without saying that without membership we have no service. Without membership, we have nothing.
Please call upon your Global Membership Team to help you and your club offset the loss of members that is hurting your club and our district. Let your GMT assist you and your club in adding new blood and keeping us in service.
Wayne Meachum Global Membership Team District Coordinator
