Coppell Lions Club Has Been Busy

The Coppell Lions had a wonderful opportunity by spending half a day volunteering at the Low Vision Clinic in Dallas. They screened 70 children ranging in ages from 4 to 19 years old. On the right is our team picture
Lion David Jeppson, Executive Director of Computers for the Blind was our guest at April 17th meeting of Coppell Lions Club. CFTB is a non- profit, volunteer organization devoted to providing computers to persons who are blind or visually impaired. CFTB refurbishs donated computers and provides accessibility software for their clients. Coppell Lions collected 5 computers and parts to donate. Members of Coppell Lions Club played Bingo with the residents of MacArthur Senior Living in Irving TX. Several families from First United Methodist Church Coppell also joined in the fun. PDG Alice Conway is shown delivering the goodies to the winners.
  Lions Club International District 2x-1 Outstanding Youth Contest and Drug Awareness Speech Contest was held in Coppell hosted by Coppell Lions Club. The Outstanding Youth winners are: (seated L to R) 2nd place Sarah Mathew Hockaday HS, 1st place Jevin James Garland HS. Both sponsored by DFW Indian Lions Club. Winner of the Drug Awareness Speech Contest are: 1st place Sharon Shaji sponsored by DFW Indian Lions Club, 3rd place Isabel Mascarenas, sponsored by Coppell Lions Club. Not shown was 2nd place Gunya Bhattarai, sponsored by Dallas Everest Lions Club, CONGRATULATIONS to the winners!
