Interesting Year for Maroon and Gold

The Maroon and Gold staff, hard working as usual, had its problems this year. Both editor and adviser fell ill as the first deadline fell.
The publication, more popular with the stu dents than the evaluators, is a Sunday-after-Sunday production with a running struggle between advis ers and editors with respect to the “suitability and good taste” of picture captions.
Denis G. Quinlan was editor this year with assistance from Peter S. Brower, Robert G. Ferrigni, and Jon A. Kaufman. Candor and wit enlivened editorial conferences.
Ernest G. Cole was in his second year as busi ness manager with Charles H. Streib learning the job for the 1971 yearbook.
David P. Karner worked as advertising manager and practically exhausted the front-office supply of pink slips, sending students (principally Bruce A. Shear) all over the area.
