The Horse Show D enise U nderwood
Championship
ESPiTE the lack of sunshine and good weather, the day of the horse show was a gala one, for a goodly crowd of spectators ventured forth to witness some keen competition within the ring.
There were three classes of horsemanship, won respectively by Denise Underwood, Louise Fargo, and Doris Laing. The very mucky ring and the terrifying umbrellas tried both horses and riders.
In the Jumping Class which followed, Muriel Barrow rode tender” with much distinction, defeating Mary Crisfield, and winning a fine silver cup presented by the Park Riding Club.
The Championship Class was a most difficult one for the judges to decide, for the riders were all first and second ribbon winners, but after much deliberation the silver trophy went to Denise Underwood,
our youthful equestrienne, and the reserve to Louise Fargo.
The horse show ended midst a torrent of rain and great applause when Eliz, abeth Smith added to her enviable store of ribbons the first in the Saddle Horse Class.
