This season proved to be a dis appointing one for the varsity soccer team, whose record slipped below 500 for the second year in a row. “Throughout the season we were hampered by injuries so that we often had to send in younger and less experienced players,” said Coach Howard Freeman. Most of the games in t,he 3-12-3 record were won or lost by only one or two points. “ We worked hard, but due to the overall inexperience of the
team, we could not manage to score enough goals to win,” said Captain Mark Keating, who was named
Most Valuable Player. Other out standing players were Peter Angelo, who won the Coach’s Award, and Rick McMurrian, the leading scorer with a record of ten goals. Despite the disappointing record, the skills and experiences gained this season have benefitted the team and will prove useful for the upcoming years.
