The 1979 wrestling season was marked by a large number of parti­ cipants, an optimistic attitude and success. This year’s team high points included the victory over Delbarton, whose grapplers Wardlaw-Hart- ridge had never beaten and their fifth place rank in the New Jersey Prep School Tournament. Matt Charlton, who finished with a 17-2
record, Matt Albano, who ranked second in the state, Dave Lonski and Ralph Conti, who completed his season third in the state, contri­ buted to the team with impressive individual efforts. Dr. Leslie Rud- nyanszky commented that he was pleased with the team’s perfor­ mance, self-discipline and deter­ mination.
