It was a challenging and memorable season for the 4. Girls’ Varsity Basketball team. Under Coach Beverly Baier, the team finished the season with a disappointing
6-15 record. Yet, there was a bright side as many young players got valuable playing time due to injuries to older players. With the loss of Eloise Cordasco early in the season, Maria Wilson and Marcie Zito took on the re sponsibility of leading the team. Wilson averaged 15 points per game for the season while Zito led the team
with her hustling and ball-handling. Also, freshman Ruth McDougall helped the team enormously with her rebounding and defense. Making a tough losing effort against a very good Rutgers Prep team in the states to end their season, this Wardlaw-Hartridge team will be heard from next year.
