This year’s Varsity Wrestling team had a fine season, finishing with an 11-5-1 record. The grapplers were an experienced lot this year with nine returning starters. The season opener against Pennington was one of the highlights of the season. Coach Les Rudnyanszky also cited the midseason meet against Roselle Catholic as one of the most exciting. Showing amazing spirit, our wres­ tlers came from behind to win the meet in front of a home crowd. The team was a bit disappointed with their second place finish in the States, but they were happy with their efforts. Matt Albano and Martin McDougall were the two most outstanding wrestlers. Both placed well in the States, with McDougall finishing second and Albano third. “It was a satisfying season in terms of our won-loss record and in terms of personal growth and effort for the team.
