MAROON AND GOLD STAFF
The boys in the upper school face a tremendous challenge each fall when they embark upon the task of publishing an eighty-odd page yearbook. Very few peo ple realize how much planning and honest-to-goodness hard work are necessary to produce a completed product In the short space of eight months.
The 1957 staff faced a doubly difficult problem this year inasmuch as they had to replace last year's out standing staff which was headed by Roger Cohen. It can be said, however, that Editor David Garrison and his associates have bridged the gap very well and have done a grand job.
W o rk on this year's publication started early In September with the organization of the staff and the assignment of responsibilities to various members of the group. The position of treasurer went to Jack Hawkins, who has done an outstanding piece of work in handling this painstaking job. Gary Taylor, assisted by LeRoy Gunzelman, quickly disposed of the problem of collecting subscription money and by the middle of November this campaign was completed. The arduous task of getting the ads for the publication was headed by Ronald Drake and, with the help of the entire staff, he was able to car ry the assignment through successfully. Assistant Editor Bob Fuller spearheaded the group assigned to doing the literary work and has done a creditable job. For the first time In many years, the art editor's post has been a meaningful one, a good piece of work having been done by Fred Sisser.
It Is the sincere hope of the Maroon and Gold staff that their efforts have resulted in a yearbook which will provide much pleasure and entertainment for their fel low students.
