This year's staff continued the tradition of turning out strong Beacons with added twists. Sports editor Adam Kreitman, along with Matt Berkowitz, wrote a column keeping readers up to date with the sports world outside W-H, both college and professional. Fiews editors Nora Paoli and Shari Bart wrote on serious issues like Governor Florio's tax laws and minority education. On the lighter side, Shari wrote a story emphasizing the finer points of Kansas and Flora wrote a mock article informing the school that female reporters were now being allowed inside the boys' locker room. Throughout the year, the Roving Reporter was continually stalking the halls with a new, exciting and different question for each issue.
Underclassmen writers were kept busy as well. Lara Spingler wrote a letter in response to a pro-PlEA editorial. Bridget Farrell set out to discover the real reason the Semi-Formal Dance was such a success while Jill D'Ambrosio covered the faculty's Murder Mystery Party. Mora and Dan Cone helped make the Beacon a little more interesting with their photography.
