EIGHTH GRADE
Eighth graders at Wardlaw made notable strides this year, a year which was both profitable and in teresting.
Both sections of English 8 had for the first time a journalism "unit," the purpose of which was to expand eighth-grade knowledge and comprehension of news paper writing. The class, which was taught by Mr. Lewis Timberlake, wrote news and sports articles, many of which were published in the Beacon, and studied general newspaper make-up and lay-out.
The class also did well in other fields of study: mathematics, history, science, and Latin.
Members of the class performed with merit on the athletic field. They guided the Junior Student Coun cil and added their names to the honor roll lists. The high school will benefit from their presence next year.
