FIELD DAT
Dearest Mother and Daddy,
At last I have a little time to write you. We’ve been kept terribly busy with rehearsals, work, etc., but I just had to snatch a few seconds to tell you about Field Day. Cappy Searles was Field Marshal and spent the morning losing her voice. I wish you could have been there, Mother, for the Mother-Daughter Badminton games—then I could have shown you off. After some screaming novelty races came the Father-Daughter softball game. Guess what the score was—10 to 10! The Fathers just can’t put anything more over on us Hartridge girls—we’re getting too educated.
After the scramble was over, Janie Walsh came out on top, winning the Field Day cup, and Jeanie Nelson won the Sportsmanship cup.
Bell ringing—must say good-bye.
Love,
Janie.
If S.- White team won the track meet, and Frosty threw javelin 66’ 6".
