The girls' varsity and J.V. tennis teams improved from last year. The varsity team was able to go to the Prep B State Tourna ment this year, which they did not accom plish last year. The J.V. team went 2-2, which is commendable in comparison to last year.
The varsity tennis team went 4-8 this year, an improvement from last year's record of 3-8. The team consisted of the
following: First singles, Dana Jacober, second singles, Nelanie Laird, third sin gles, Nichelle Schackman, first doubles, Whitney Kent and Katie Mericle, second doubles, Erika Blechinger and Jessica McCormick. The Coach is Mrs. Megan L. Keich.
The girls were able to make it to The Prep B State Tournament on Friday No vember 1. At the tournament, all of the girls won their first round except for 2nd singles Laird. Coach Keich stated, "Melanie played against a tough oppo nent; she gave it her best, and that is what matters. All the girls played well." Second doubles Erika Blechinger and Jessica McCormack returned to the semi-finals the next day.
