The boys' varsity soccer team closed out their season with an overtime loss to Rutgers Prep. They finished with a record of 6 -10-1, falling short of Coach Walker's expectations of being .500.
Despite the team's losing record. Coach Walker says "It was a successful, produc­ tive year." There were three overtime games, and many games were decided by one goal. A highlight for the team was their 1-0 defeat over the successful Ro­ selle Catholic team.
Senior Jon Hegna scored two crucial goals, boosting W-H to victory over Sad­ dle River, 3-1.
This hard working team was led by sen­ ior co-captain, Tom Sobe, who had 251 saves on the year, flegna andjunior Bryan Bonk, who are also captains, contributed greatly. Senior Jon Bandomer, playing his first season of soccer, was a key defen­ sive player.
Coach Walker summed up the season by saying "They were committed and hard working. We played some good, ex­ citing soccer."
