WRESTLIMQ IMPROVES FROM 1-7 TO 5-7
It was a season of marked improvement by not only on the part of the wrestlers but also on the part of student/athlete participation. It was an exciting year. One that saw a small wrestling team that began the season with seven wrestlers grow into a prep power with enough wrestlers to fill all weight classes within the last few matches. Ken Horwitz was on his way to a state title when he broke his ankle in a match which nearly gave Coach Rudnyanszki an
ulcer. Louis Miller then assumed command as a newcomer who won his teammates' respect and was made co-captain. Sophomores Dave Resnick and Jason Kidd proved valuable future forces for the Rams when they each won silver medals in the conference tournament. Jason Kidd also took a silver in the Hun Tournament. Perhaps the match of the year came when the Rams were down to Newark Academy with one match left. In the heavyweight class Frank Stiso was matched against a 255 pounder. Frank ended up winning the match giving W-H the victory by three points. Avraam Odysseos wins the Most Forfeits Award. His record was 12-3 with 8 by forfeit.
