Girl's Varsity Basketball
The W-H Varsity Girls' Basket ball Team had an impressive 17-6
record.
Freshman point guard, Sarah
Williamson displayed her speed on the court and agile ball han dling ability contributing to sev eral of the teams points and lead ing the way with steals and fast breaks. Another asset to the team is sophomore shooting guard, Alyia Latif. Mr. Everhart proudly claims that Latif is the most con sistent and best outside shooter.
He considers small forward Naya Lyons as the defensive spe cialist of the team. Paige Thompson, the sixth man, pro vides the team with a "spark off the bench." Nicole Everhart, the sophomore center is also having a good year. She has already set both a season and career record for blocked shots. Another defender. Junior power forward, Michelle Parker holds the rebounding rec ord pulling down nine per game.
A rem arkable aspect of this team is its relatively small size with just nine members. With the loss of two seniors, Mr. Everhart is concerned w ith num bers next year. Luckily four of the five start ers are returning and hopefully they will improve their game by next year.
