Diverging from typical summer preseason athletics, this year the girls' soccer team traveled to Boston, MA for training. While there, they not only trained, but also met the UMass Lowell Division II NCAA athletics soccer team and attended a Boston University Girls Soccer game.

m developed skills back to Wardlaw, where they assisted the incoming freshmen in their peer groups with their transition into high school.
The W-H cheerleaders' annual trip to Pine Forest cheerleading camp proved to be one for the record books when, on the third day, the girls won the Top Banana, which is awarded daily to the team with the strongest character and most team spirit. This was the first time that the W-H cheer squad was awarded this honor in twelve summers at Pine Forest. The girls left camp after four grueling days of nonstop practice, armed with new skills and plenty of excitement for their upcoming season. "It was the best possible way to kick off our season," says senior captain Marie Vlad, proud of her team's accomplishments at camp.

Barclays Tournament
In late August, the Plainfield Country Club hosted The Barclays for the PGA Tour. Many students, including a majority of the baseball team, helped out with the setup. Even though their volunteer time was cut short by Hurricane Irene, the W-H students loved every minute of their experience. “It was really neat to see behind the scenes of a golf tournament," says junior Noah Ganz. "Being able to take part in such a great event was a once in a lifetime experience.” A
