 Peer Leadership
Before Thanksgiving break, the six Peer Leadership groups traveled to the Fairview Lake YMCA camp for an overnight trip. They participated in teamwork activities as well as discussions that pushed them out of their comfort zones and strengthened the bonds within each group. One such activity was the Action Socialization Experience, or ASE, which was a series of ropes and obstacle courses that required teamwork and
thought. Another activity was shelter building, where each group built a shelter using leaves, sticks, and stones. “On the ASE you really had to think,” says freshman Avery Choi, remembering the course. “It was a lot of physics, and it was fun. The whole trip was fun.” At night, everyone gathered around a campfire for s'mores and ghost stories told by Ms. Tucker. The freshmen and their peer leaders left the YMCA camp with good memories and an even stronger bond.
Girls' Soccer
The girls’ varsity soccer team got off to a great start and clinched the Greater Middlesex Conference Gold Division title for a second year in a row. Head Coach Jacquelyn MacLean said, “This has been a great season and a true team effort. Winning the Gold Division has been a highlight of the season and a goal we set for ourselves every y e a r . I ’m v e r y p r o u d o f w h a t t h i s team accomplished.” The team was also seeded first in the non public B south.
