MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

The MPMA is Here for You

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer with your family
and friends and that this issue finds you doing well. I’m enjoying the
summer with my family, especially these two little guys.

As I mentioned in the previous issue, my main focus over the next year will be on member recruitment and student
recruitment. My other goal is to focus on insurance issues that members have brought to our attention. Many of the
complaints revolve around DME. Orthotics and Diabetic shoe coverage are a big concern. We have formed a new
insurance committee headed by Dr. Louis Geller. We are bringing these complaints to the insurance companies and
working with APMA on a national level. Please let us know if you have any concerns.

MPMA is continually committed to young doctors. Dr. Andrew Mastay was sent to the APMA Advocacy Summit
and another doctor will be sent to the Young Physician Institute. I want to thank Dr. Andrew Mastay and Dr. Sari
Preisand for all their hard work chairing the Young Members committee.
Again, I am very excited to announce that we now have a social medial presence. A very quick and easy way that
MPMA members can help our organization grow its network and influence is by partaking in our social media
efforts. As of right now, MPMA is active on three social media platforms: Facebook (fb.com/MPMAorg),
Twitter (@MPMATweets), and Instagram (@mpmaorg).

By following these accounts, inviting your friends to do the same, and interacting with the posts, you will be
contributing tremendously to our efforts to create an online community for MPMA members, partners, and our
patients. With an increased following, MPMA is better suited to promoting the interests of our members and
patients. I encourage you to begin promoting our social media presence today.
