Aruban Singer Esmeralda Interviewed in Canadian Magazine
PALM BEACH - The Aruban artist Esmeralda
was recently interviewed by the Canadian
Magazine Melange Travel & Lifestyle in their
July issue. During this interview her love for her
family, friends, music and the love she has for
the Caribbean -in specific Aruba and Tortola-
were showcased.
A large part of the article talks about the musi-
cal culture, the cuisine and experiences of the
Island life in Aruba. Esmeralda expresses that it
is an honor to have a prestigious international
magazine showing interest in her music, she
was humbled by the extent of the article.
In the 8 pages interview she explains where
her drive comes from and where her ‘roots’ lie
as her musical journey started on a very young
age. Esmeralda is currently in Europe to pro-
mote her new songs that she recorded with
world renown reggae artist Pressure Busspipe,
as well the new song ‘You are my heartbeat’,
featuring Valentino King .
Locally she performs with the Reggae Band
‘Kawura Roots Band, they are preparing for
their upcoming concert and are proud that
Esmeralda promotes the band abroad. You

Aruban Brian James Stars at Flor de Oriente Cafe
ORANJESTAD - Following a successful first per-
formance, the second of two solo shows fea-
turing Brian James will be held this upcoming
Wednesday July 26thin the recently renovated
Flor de Oriente cafe in Oranjestad. Brian’s show
will feature songs from his new album ‘Let it
Ride’ as well as his first album ‘Right Here’. It will
be a cozy and intimate evening at the capital’s
most picturesque terrace where a selection of
liquors, wines and bucket deals are available as
well as the homemade snacks and hamburgers
at local prices.
Brian James grew up in beautiful Aruba where
he learned to sing and play guitar. His musical
influences at that time were Gordon Lightfoot,
the Eagles and Steely Dan. A true romantic:
Brian writes about life, love and the passing of
time. Brian often plays solo, as to capture the
intimacy and purity of his songs. “As they were
written”, says the singer-songwriter. The show
will take place on Wednesday 26th of July, at
8pm, free admission. q
