1. What to do if the pt is sent home without ostomy supplies?
Check order number on the appliance the pt is wearing and reorder one
box until assessment made, or come into the office, or contact
manufacturer for samples
2. How do pt get supplies after discharge?
The patient can continue with current vendor or from surgical supply
pharmacy . Teach patient how to order supplies prior to discharge
3. Should a large supply order be placed prior to discharge?
No. It is better to teach pt how to order the supplies
