Page 8 - Sophie's Christmas With Teddy & Mouse
P. 8

She heard the ribbon gently blowing in the wind, tapping her window, tap tap, tap-tap.
So that's where the strange noise was coming from.
She unwrapped her present as fast as she could and found a shiny red bicycle with a giant bell on it.
“Wow!” she said, “Now I can nally ride on a real little big girl's bike.” She rode all day around the old cottage, through the orchard on the snowy path until she returned home tired, ready to warm her frozen hands by the re. Little Fox lay peacefully, snoring softly in his cosy, round basket.
When it got dark in the evening, Sophie was tired from her exciting day and after wishing everyone good night, she quickly crawled under her blankets into her warm, snugly bed.
She held Teddy close and told him all about her morning. She said she was so scared when something tapped her window that she didn't dare to get out of bed.
"But," she said to Teddy, “after I dreamed about the robin, his friends and the orange-nosed Snowman, I wasn’t afraid anymore. Now I am a little big BIG girl", she sighed and fell, tired but happy, into a deep, contented sleep with Teddy in her arms.
She dreamed she was riding on her shiny red bicycle on the snowy path, passed the old apple trees and saw Robin perched on the shoulder of the snowman. Together they waved at her and whispered softly, "That's Sophie, the little big brave girl. It's her birthday."
