Chlorophyll is a pigment
found in leaves that is used to
absorb the sun’s light. The
chlorophyll is capable of
absorbing red and blue light
from the sun, but not green
light. The green light is
reflected by chlorophyll rather
than being absorbed, and is
why most plants appear to be
green.
