The founding father and the great
leader of the United Arab Emirates
(UAE), Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al
Nahyan, was born in 1918 in Abu
Dhabi.
He was the son of His Highness Sheikh
Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who also
was the Ruler of Abu Dhabi for four
years (1922 to 1926).
Sheikh Zayed was the youngest of all
his four siblings, whereas his eldest
brother, Sheikh Shakhbut bins Sultan
Al Nahyan, also ruled Abu Dhabi in
1928.
